KUALA LUMPUR – Whether it is rain or shine, it does not deter the residents at Batu to perform their duty as Malaysians today.
Sinar Daily was at one of the busiest polling stations at Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu 4 (1) Jalan Ipoh where continuous stream of people came out to cast their votes.
Speaking to some of the voters here, they said the process was quite fast and Election Commission (EC) volunteers had done a great job to deal with the voters.
A voter Parameswari Raajo, 45 said the process it was a smooth process that ended smoothly.
“My family came here at about 10am, the process was easy and fast.
Meanwhile, Nurin Mohd, 26 who hailed from Batu was satisfied with the arrangements and help from EC volunteers.
“I brought my mom along with me who needs further assistance with wheelchair, the EC members immediately helped us. They made my work easier,” she said.
In Batu Parliamentary seat, the electoral battle would be a tense competition between ten candidates – which would be the highest number of contestants in GE15.
It would see incumbent of the Batu seat Pakatan Harapan candidate P. Prabakaran compete against former two-term Batu MP Chua Tian Chang, better known as Tian Chua who was disqualified from standing in the last election and campaigned for Prabakaran instead.
