GOMBAK - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has denied claims that he contacted Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday.

This is following Anwar's claim that Pakatan Harapan (PH) felt capable of winning all of the 112 Parliamentary seats in the 15th General Election (GE15) and that the IGP had contacted him and asked him to be prepared.

Acryl Sani said the claims were false.

"I am not taking any actions against him for his statement as maybe he had made a mistake while he was enthusiastically speaking during campaigning," he said in a press conference at the Gombak Police Headquarters (IPD) on Saturday.

Previously a video of Anwar's speech while he was campaigning went viral.

He had stated in his speech that the IGP had asked him to be prepared for the possibility of PH winning all 112 parliamentary seats in GE15.
