GE15 (unofficial): PN candidate leads in Batu Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR - The unofficial results for the Batu Parliament sees Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Azhar Yahya leading the other candidates with a total of 340 votes.

Sinar Harian was made to understand that the number was recorded as of 7.30pm, following that only one ballot box was brought to the vote-tallying centre, Sekolah Menengah Sentul Utama, Jalan Ipoh so far.

Meanwhile, the calculation for the other 196 channels was being finalised at the polling centre before being taken to the official vote tallying centre.

Based on the information received, it was understood that more than 72 per cent of voters went out to vote in the Batu Parliament.

The P115 Batu Parliamentary seat, which consisted of 113,863 voters, witnessed a ten-cornered fight involving the incumbent candidate, returning candidates and new faces in GE15.

In GE14, the Batu Parliament was won by the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate, P. Prabakaran with a majority of 24,438 votes.
