SHAH ALAM - Any coalition that forms the government with Pas will be unacceptable to Sarawak christians.

In a statement Sarawak human rights activist Peter John Jaban said it will be difficult for the christians here to accept a coalition with Perikatan National, as even its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had insulted the community.

" Words have an effect and Sarawak voters have voted for a moderate multi racial society, it has put its trust in Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) so for the party to consider an alliance with PN is really unacceptable," he said in a statement today.

Peter was referring to a Tik Tok video that appeared to show Muhyiddin giving a speech where he told the public not to vote for Pakatan Harapan as the coalition was allegedly backed by a group of Jews and Christians that were pushing for a Christianisation agenda in Malaysia.

Muhyiddn has since denied he said anything insulting in a statement and said that his words were taken out of context. "My entire speech was about 55mins long. This clip that was circulated on Tik Tok and social media is a limited one minute and 35 seconds out of the whole speech," he said in a statement Friday (Nov 18).

The Pagoh MP said he specifically spoke about the need for political stability and the need to avoid corruption. John urged Sarawak premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg to reconsider his decision of joining hands with PN.

" The majority of Muslims here are moderate and understanding, they believe in the freedom of speech and religion, want a stable economy and social political landscape.

" The majority of Sarawak is christians that hope to live their lives in peace we must support the coalition that holds the same values, he stressed.
