KUALA LUMPUR - MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said a decision will be made shortly on whether Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) will work together to form a new government.

Wee said this as he was leaving the Umno headquarters at Menara Dato' Onn, World Trade Centre, here, today, after a BN Supreme Council meeting.

As he was leaving, he told reporters that he was heading to a presidential council meeting.

"Decisions will be made shortly, wait for the announcement. I have a presidential council meeting now," he said.

The presidential meeting hinted to a PH presidential council meeting, since BN is not led by a presidential council.

By 2pm today, leaders of political parties and coalitions must inform Istana Negara of the agreed combination of political parties to form the next government and submit the name of the prime minister candidate.

Yesterday, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah granted an extension of the deadline for the submissions.

The deadline which was supposed to be at 2pm, yesterday, has been extended to 2pm, today.
