JOHOR BAHRU – Rengit Assemblyman Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi labels former Ketereh MP Tan Sri Annuar Musa as a hypocrite because of the latter's "Anti DAP" rhetoric.

Puad labelled Annuar as such because he had in the past, defended the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the previous government and DAP inked back when Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was Prime Minister.

“Their narrative is now ‘No Anwar, No DAP’ even though there was a viral video of Annuar stating what’s wrong with working with DAP. He also defended the ‘MoU with DAP’ when Ismail Sabri was the PM.

“Is that not conspiring with DAP? DAP gets the same allocation as BN MPs.

“He even said the MoU had no time limit, if you cancel the MoU BN can be sued. That was how much he likes DAP,” he said in a statement on his Facebook on Wednesday.

Puad said this to comment on Annuar’s statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday that claims there was a planned conspiracy when a party tried to mislead the Yang di-Pertuan Agong regarding the election of the 10th prime minister.

In the same statement Puad also claimed that Annuar accused the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of controlling Umno following the rumours that BN would join PH.

“Annuar may have forgotten that when Tan Sri Muhyiddin held the position of prime minister, he (Muhyiddin) was also controlled by Umno MPs.

“Annuar obeyed Muhyiddin’s words rather than the party’s words. He defended Muhyiddin’s decision to declare a state of emergency and suspend the Parliament. Fortunately, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong canceled the state of emergency.

“In addition, he (Annuar) had conspired against the decision of the Umno General Assembly (PAU) and prevented the party from leaving Perikatan Nasional (PN) and wanted Muhyiddin to remain as PM,” he said.

Puad claimed that Annuar tried to prevent the Parliament from being dissolved early before the party election so that he and his group could win the election while they were still ministers.

“In fact, Annuar also urged the party leadership not to shoot themselves in the foot. However, now he is shooting himself in the foot daily. These are all party election campaigns.

“He blames the president. What’s missing is him. He was also the cause of the defeat because he disobeyed the party’s decision. Was it true that in the last night there were negotiations for him to be the candidate for PN in Ketereh? Don’t be a hypocrite,” he said.
