PUTRAJAYA - Seventeen hours after being sworn in as the 10th Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrives at the Perdana Putra building to officially perform his duties.

He arrived in a multi-purpose vehicle accompanied by his officers at 9.52am, today.

Anwar was scheduled to clock in to work this morning and enter his office for the first time to begin his duties as Prime Minister.

The Tambun MP was expected to chair a meeting with the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman was sworn in as the 10th prime minister at Balai Singgahsana Kecil, Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur, yesterday (Thursday).

Earlier, a vehicle carrying the Commander of the Armed Forces (PAT) General Tan Sri Affendi Buang arrived at 7.45am followed by Mohd Zuki at 8.16am.

The ceremony, which involved the conferment of the instrument of appointment and taking the oath of office and allegiance, as well as the oath of secrecy as the Prime Minister has been held before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

This also ended the political impasse due to a hung Parliament from the 15th General Election.
