Motorcyclist dies after crashing into back of tow truck

BENTONG - A motocyclist dies after crashing into the back of a tow truck at Kilometre 76.2 of the Kuala Lumpur - Karak Highway, near Bentong yesterday.
In the incident at about 4.50pm, the victim, Samad Cham, 48, suffered severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.
Bentong district police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the investigation found that the tow truck had stopped on the shoulder of the road at the location.
"After about 30 minutes, there was a loud bang at the back which happened to be a motorcycle that hit the rear side of the truck.
"As a result of the accident, the victim suffered severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene," he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Zaiham asked for any witnesses of the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation into the case.
The police also advised all road users to always follow the rules on the road.
"The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987," Zaiham said.
