SHAH ALAM - Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's appointment as prime minister should not be disputed, former Barisan Nasional (BN) Secretary-General Tan Sri Annuar Musa said.

He said this was due to the appointment process being done accordingly and it was the absolute authority of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to appoint a prime minister who in His Majesty's opinion had the support of the majority of MPs.

He said on the other hand, the focus should now be on the formation of a government that would be able to fulfill its duties and serve the people and the country.

"In the current situation, what is needed is not only national unity but also national reconciliation.

"Let's stop the disputes and just cooperate, what is needed is a recovery process that can revive the integrity and strength of the nation.

" A nation that would be able to tackle the global economic, social and political challenges," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The former Ketereh MP hoped that the upcoming parliamentary session would be constructive and that all its members will fulfill their duties and responsibilities as best as possible.
