PUTRAJAYA - It is unlikely that the formation of the unity government cabinet would be made soon.

This was after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was scheduled for an audience with Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah at Istana Kinta at 10am on Friday.

He will then attend a walkabout programme and a get-together session at Pasar Tanjung Rambutan.

Afterwards, the Tambun MP will attend Friday prayers and the Kenduri Rakyat programme at Muhammad Al-Fateh mosque in Taman Jati, Ipoh.

Meanwhile, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will be leaving for Pekan, Pahang for Friday prayers and will grace the boat award ceremony and contributions to the poor and needy.

Meanwhile, news agencies reported that Anwar applied for a postponement to announce the cabinet line-up to next week as he needed more time.

This meant that Anwar had worked for six days alone without a cabinet after being sworn in as Prime Minister on Nov 25.

Previously, former prime ministers Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin needed eight days before announcing their respective cabinet line-up.
