Show high moral standards or we will call you out - Rasuah Busters warns Anwar's Cabinet
SHAH ALAM - The newly-minted Ministers -- of the unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim -- who are dog by pending court proceedings should resign from office if any of them are found guilty.
This was the firm stand of the anti-corruption movement #RasuahBusters whose numero uno, Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub believed that such arrangement would attest Anwar’s morality and sincerity.
“The new cabinet line-up of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has to display transparency and a high moral stance by stating that anyone who is found guilty in court should bear responsibility and resign instead of appealing.
"The government's ambition to modernise and heal the country will enjoy our fullest support but #RasuahBusters and our partners will not hesitate to challenge any decisions or actions by the government be it constructively or critically in tandem with public concern and the Rukunegara.
"The political history of the country serves as a ‘rearview mirror’ that should be occasionally viewed and recalled in order to prevent accidents when driving this nation for the safety and well-being of the people who vote with great optimism,” said Hussamuddin in a statement today.
Hussamuddin, who is also the Karangkraf Group founder, expressed the gratitude of the duties to all cabinet members and said that with the help of God, they can build a better Malaysia with integrity, free from corruption.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has yesterday, unveiled his cabinet -- ten days since he rose to power-- consisting of 28 Ministers with the appointment of Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi being the most controversial.
It was so as Zahid was accused of 47 counts of money laundering and CBT involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds running into millions of ringgit with the trial set to resume in January 2023.
