SHAH ALAM - Former Law minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has denied being nominated as the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat to replace Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun.

He said he has not received any notice on the position.

“How can (the report) mention (my name) just like that? How can a 14-day notice (be given) if I was not asked?

“This means that it was not me (who was offered Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat), simple as that,” he said to Sinar Harian today.

Therefore, the Speaker candidates should have been contacted to get theor consent.
