Sarawak best example of unity in M'sia, says minister

KUCHING - The spirit of unity and tolerance between multi-racial communities in Sarawak is the best example for other states in the country to emulate, said National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.

He said the spirit of living harmoniously could not be more emphatic than now, when the country has a government coalition based on unity.

"We, in Sarawak, do not have a problem of unity here. We live in a harmonious situation here.

"It is hoped that what we practise here can be emulated in other states in Malaysia,” he told reporters at the Kuching International Airport here today.

Meanwhile, Aaron said the National Library of Malaysia (PNM), the Department of Museums Malaysia (JMM) and the National Archives. which were previously under the Ministry of Tourism, are now placed under his ministry.

On Dec 2, Aaron, who has been a Kanowit MP since 2004, was appointed to the Cabinet of the unity government announced by newly appointed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Health II from 2020 to 2022 under two prime ministers, namely Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. - Bernama
