Singer Celine Dion suffering neurological disorder, Stiff Person Syndrome

Legendary singer Celine Dion has revealed that she has been dealing with a neurological disorder, Stiff Person Syndrome, shocking her fans around the world.

Dion, who is popularised with her hit song My Heart Will Go On and It's All Coming Back, revealed she had been dealing with health problems for a long time.

“Recently, I've been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder, Stiff Person Syndrome which affects one in a million people.

“And it's been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I've been going through," she shared in an Instagram post.

The French-Canadian singer further contended that this health issue also caused her to have hard times to walk and sing like she used to.

“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what has been causing all the spasms that I've been having.

“Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way I'm used to,” she said.

Due to the unfortunate consequences, she said it was a "heartbreaking move" for her to take a step back from the European tour that was supposed to be held in February next year.

Nevertheless, the 54-year-old songtress assured her fans not to worry as she is now focusing on her treatment for her to rock the stage once more in the future.

“I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better and my precious children who are supporting me and giving me hope.

“I'm working hard with my supports, therapist everyday to bring back my strength and ability to perform again,” she added.
