Anwar reveals the Cabinet's deputy ministers

SHAH ALAM -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has finally unveiled the soon-to-be sworn deputy ministers of his unity government Cabinet.

He said that the list of names had been consented to by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah.

"The swearing-in ceremony will be conducted at the Istana Negara, at 3 pm tomorrow," he said in a televised special address today.

The following are the names of the deputy ministers and their respective ministerial portfolios.

Finance Ministry: Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and Steven Sim Chee Keong

Transport Ministry: Hasbi Habibullah

Rural and Regional Development Ministry: Datuk Rubiah Wang

Economic Affairs Ministry: Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib

Local Government Development Ministry: Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir

Works Ministry: Datuk Abdul Rahman Mohamad

Home Ministry: Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah

International Trade and Industry Ministry: Liew Chin Tong

Higher Education Ministry: Datuk Seri Yusuf Apdal

Science and Technology Ministry: Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup

Women, Family and Community Development Ministry: Aiman Athirah Sabu

Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform): Ramkarpal Singh

Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry: Siti Aminah Aching

Agriculture and Food Security Ministry: Chang Fong Chin

Anwar however did not announce the deputy ministers for three other portfolios.

They were the deputies in the National Unity Ministry, as well as two in the Prime Minister's Department for Religious Affairs as well as Sabah and Sarawak Affairs.
