Former Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss has died on Tuesday, just days after celebrating his ninth wedding anniversary, Dec 10.

He was 40.

According to PageSix, Boss’ wife, Allison Holker had reported to authorities that her husband had left home without his car- which was unlike him.

The police then discovered Boss’ body in a Los Angeles hotel room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Boss, was then pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics.

Boss previously started his DJ career for Ellen DeGeneres in 2014 until the show came to end in May this year and would often guest-host on Ellen’s behalf in her absence.

Moving on, he was named the executive producer in 2020 and became the announcer on Ellen’s Game of Games.

He married Holker in 2013 and the couple was blessed with three children- Weslie, 14, Maddox, six and Zaia, three.

The dancer-turned-deejay first auditioned for a dance reality show and competition, So You Think You Can Dance season three in 2007, however, didn’t manage to make the top 20.

Nevertheless, he went back for the audition in the next season which brought him as the runner-up.

His sudden death affected many prominent figures, including the United States former first lady, Michelle Obama.
