BATANG KALI - The search and rescue (SAR) operation for the remaining nine victims missing in the landslide disaster at the Father's Organic Farm campsite, Jalan Genting, here enters its fifth day on Tuesday.

The main rescue agencies involved are the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the police (PDRM) and the Civil Defense Force (APM).

Also involved were personnel from Survey and Mapping Department (Jupem) and National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).

As of Sinar Harian's survey at 9am, the weather was good and the operation could resume.

The service of the Tracker Dog Unit (K9) in addition to the use of excavators and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) would continue to locate victims suspected to be buried in the ground.

Rescue workers were seen starting to reorganise their movements in an effort to find the remaining nine victims who were still missing.

Yesterday, the movement of rescue team members involved in the SAR operation in the landslide area at the Hilltop campsite at Father's Organic Farm, Jalan Genting- Batang Kali here was reduced to ensure the safety of all parties was at the best level.

Hulu Selangor District Police chief Superintendent Suffian Abdullah said the step was taken to ensure that the threat to the rescue team members was reduced.

He said the SAR operation continued with caution to ensure the safety of all members involved.

This is because the rescue team had to deal with soft, muddy ground at a depth of about 16 metres.

In the incident on Friday, the fire department received a distress call at 2.24am.

A total of 94 victims were involved in the heartbreaking tragedy.
