JOHOR BAHRU - The impression that Cabinet ministers including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim could not accept any criticism is untrue.

Deputy Communications and Digital minister Teo Nie Ching said claims that those who criticise the government would have actions taken against them, including having their social media accounts blocked are simply lies.

"I don't know why this kind of assumption (the government cannot be criticized) exists because it is not true.

"As what the Prime Minister has stated previously, he welcomed constructive criticism. He never stated criticism was not for himself, ministers or deputy ministers," she visiting the Johor Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) in Bandar Baru Uda, here, on Friday.

Also present was Johor APM director Kamal Mokhtar.

The Kulai MP stated harmony in society must be maintained to avoid hatred.

"What we want to emphasise here is the government will tolerate any kind of hate speech as we want to protect the sentiment of community harmony.

"The government does not want any statement that goes against the law especially the '3Rs - Race, Religion and Royalty'. That was the order of the Prime Minister for no party to play with the 3R issues," he said.

Teo said there were no social media users that were dragged to court because they criticised the unity government.
