KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysians! Its time to grove to the soulful music of Indian music superstar, AR Rahman who stole the hearts of millions around the world with his melodious tunes.

After a gap of six years, the Oscar Award winner is slated to perform at the Stadium Bukit Jalil on Jan 28, next year.

AR Rahman who arrived at Malaysia yesterday for a press conference leading up to his mega concert, said he was overwhelmed by the love and support he had received from the Indian community here.

"My first show in Malaysia was back in 1996 and I had received trendmendous support even then, when I was still new in the industry.

"The love and support I received never changed, looking forward to another great show here,” the music maestro said at ‘AR Rahman Secret of Success’ press conference here.

The press conference saw more than 300 ‘Rahmanians’ (AR Rahman's fans) today.

The music composer and singer is no stranger to the Academy Awards. After winning two awards in 2009 for Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire.

He won the award for both Best Original Score and Best Original Song for the single Jai Ho.

AR Rahman was also nominated in 2011 and it is reported that the musical genius has an Oscar connection this year too.

Divya Malar, 28, from Kuala Lumpur said; "I’ve bought tickets for my entire family, can’t wait to witness the legend himself performing.”

Meanwhile, Karthikeyan, 36, from Shah Alam said the upcoming concert will be his second AR Rahman concert

"I can't wait to see him rock the stage!

Die-hard fan, Lavanya, 30 who hailed from Nilai said; “How can I miss a press conference attended by AR Rahman himself? Looking forward for his concert next year,” she said.

The concert is proudly presented by DMY creation.

Its chairman Datuk Muhammad Yusoff said some 60,000 fans are expected to attend the concert.
