SHAH ALAM - Games are fun but educational games could be equally if not more fun!

NextGen Theme Park recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records as Malaysia's largest indoor edutainment theme park has officially opened its first outlet in 1 Utama.

The 45,000 sq.ft space is home to a variety of enriching, family-friendly attractions, and mini-games including infant play areas, obstacle courses, a sky-themed playground with rainbow slides, e-gaming zones, and even a karaoke centre.

The theme park is a one-stop for fun learning activities that transcend generations from toddlers and teens to adults and the elderly. It features five exciting zones full of fun learning activities namely: Entertainment, Enrichment, Experience, Engagement, and Empowerment. NextGen Theme Park co-founder Lilian Chan said their goal is to provide children with learning environments outside the classrooms and also engage families together.

"As parents ourselves, we genuinely believe that happy families start with being involved in our children’s growth and development. "Since the time spent together at a young age is so important, we wanted to create a space that can help the next generation learn through fun while also bonding with their loved ones. "NextGen is a happy memory factory where family members from the young to the old have a place to relax, learn, and most importantly, have a fun time together," she said.

Looking to establish themselves as a social and lifestyle hub, NextGen’s facilities also include spaces for visitors to hone their dancing and singing skills, with social interaction areas interspersed between their many enrichment classes. Through this arrangement, the theme park effectively caters to three learning domains: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.

Meanwhile, NextGen co-founder Leroy Lee added: "Entertainment and technology have been changing every aspect of society, and we hope to apply that to take our education industry to the next level as well. "This NextGen centre is only the first of many that we aim to establish helping kids develop a myriad of skills while having fun. "As the name implies, we want to help build the next generation that is ultimately thriving, happy, and positive," he said.

NextGen’s launch comes with the edutainment market growing substantially worldwide, with an expected valuation of US$3.45 billion by 2028.
