KUALA LUMPUR - The Umno Supreme Council meeting tonight touched on the progress of the party's general assembly to be held on Jan 11.

Supreme Council member Isham Jalil said, however, the issue of election for top leadershipand invitation to party leaders from the unity government was not raised in the meeting.

“We did not discuss about it (election of party leaders). Just now we saw 2,838 delegates this time around, there was an additional 183 delegates.

“As of now, there has not been any decisions to invite other parties (Pakatan Harapan).

“We will invite the same parties we invite every year,” he told media members at Menara Dato Onn, World Trade Centre (WTC) late Thursday night.

The Umno Information Chief said not many issues were discussed during the council meeting aside from the Umno General Assembly 2022 that was set to be held next week.

“Every year Umno will hold an AGM and this time will be its first after the 15th General Election.

“Thus we discussed about the direction of the assembly,” he said.
