MCA Youth hits out at Nga over claim linking Johor polls to Najib's fate
Neow said it was inaccurate to link a party's electoral victory to legal proceedings involving a specific individual.

SHAH ALAM - A remark by DAP national deputy chairman Nga Kor Ming linking the outcome of the Johor state election to the fate of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has drawn criticism from MCA Youth leadership.
MCA Youth information chief Neow Choo Seong said the claim that a Barisan Nasional victory in the state would lead to Najib's release exposed the Housing and Local Government Minister's failure to grasp the principle of separation of powers that underpins the country's democratic and administrative system.
He said it was inaccurate to link a party's electoral victory to legal proceedings involving a specific individual.
"I would like to ask Nga Kor Ming, who is also a federal minister, whether he truly understands and respects the principle of separation of powers that forms the foundation of our democratic system and national administration.
"If he genuinely believes that a BN victory in a state election could lead to the release of Datuk Seri Najib Razak, then the public has every right to ask whether he is suggesting that there is political interference in the judiciary," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Neow said the public had grown increasingly discerning in assessing the political landscape and was capable of distinguishing fact-based arguments from political rhetoric designed to stoke fear or prejudice.
He urged DAP to run a mature campaign focused on issues closer to the people's daily lives, such as the economy, cost of living, education and job opportunities.
"The people want a political culture that is healthy, constructive and grounded in facts.
"Let the people of Johor make their assessment based on track records, performance and the proposals put forward, not through propaganda or baseless political scaremongering," he said.
