Umno: KJ surrounded by Puteri representatives

KUALA LUMPUR – Cheers from more than 900 Puteri Umno members are heard as former Umno Youth Minister Khairy Jamalduddin steps into the ballroom at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WCTKL) for the party’s general assembly.
The Umno Rembau deputy chief, clad in a red batik shirt, was present to witness the assembly live at Tun Hussein Onn Hall on Thursday.
As the acting chairman Fadwah Anuwar announced his arrival, several Umno Puteri members immediately swarmed the former health minister for a photo opportunity.
Fadwah had to ask the representatives to return back to their seats in order for the conference to be continued.
Khairy previously stated that he would contest against the position of Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as president in the party election.
He had also said that he would support the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim if he was chosen.
