Political education should start at 14 - Zambry

KUALA LUMPUR - Political education should be inculcated among Malaysian youth as early as 14 years old.

Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said to attract the young voters, political education should be implemented as early as 14 years old because they will have only a few years until they turn 18 for the upcoming general election.

“Based on what Umno president Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi said during his policy speech today, the main focus for our party is to attract the Malaysian youth voters,”

" So we need to start early." Zambry said during his visit to the 2022 Umno General Assembly Media Room, today.

Zambry, who is the also Foreign Minister, said Malaysia's political landscape was now changing and Umno should learn from the mistakes that they have made during GE15.

“We need to move forward, the political scene is much different from before and we need to adapt," he added.

Attracting youth voters has been the general theme of the Umno General Assembly with all wings acknowledging the need to adapt to the current times to educate and pull in youth voters to the party.

This is the third day of the Umno General Assembly, which will go on till Jan 14.
