KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor asks all parties to give him space to govern the state well.

He said it was important to look at various aspects and actions that should be taken with the interests of the state and the people should be prioritised.

“Give me the space to think on how to govern the state well.

“Don't worry, we will take appropriate action... What is important is the interest of the state and the people," he said when met by reporters after convention ceremony at the Universiti College Sabah Foundation at the Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) here, on Saturday.

He was commenting on those who did not recognise the position of the Umno State Assembly Members involved in the recent cabinet reshuffle.

The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman also said that he often communicates with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to raise various issues related to the people and Sabah.

"Of course I told him (about the cabinet reshuffle), for me this is necessary, not only do we inform the Prime Minister but what we are doing is for the betterment of the state," he said.

Meanwhile, when asked if GRS was ready to accept five Umno - Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen who might have their membership in the party revoked, Hajiji said it was too early to comment on that.

"It's too early for me to comment because it's Umno and BN affairs, so I can't talk about things like that.

"Let's wait and see," he said.

Umno on Friday unanimously approved an amendment to the party's constitution that MPs and assemblymen who joined other alliances that it was not part of would automatically lose their membership.
