SHAH ALAM - Pas president wishes a Happy Chinese New Year to Malaysians who are celebrating the festival season.

The warm wish was made through a tweet posted on his account at 4.03pm today. He wrote, "Happy Chinese New Year.

"I wish a happy new year to the Chinese community especially the Tionghua ethnic who lives with us in Malaysia," the caption read.

The post was also accompanied with a picture of him dressed in red traditional Chinese attire.

Following the tweet in a thread, he shared that Islam really respects and cares for interracial relations and treats people fairly regardless of race and religion.

He said Islam sees the existence of diversity of races and nationalities in Malaysia as a positive thing with the concept of a pluralistic society based on the concept of the State of Medina in the time of the Prophet PBUH.

The Marang MP tweeted further, "Each nation has its own advantages and expertise that can be used well to develop Malaysia.

"So let all parties together establish close relationships between families, relatives and the whole race.

“Such harmony is very important to build a harmonious society and a stable country," he ended the Twitter thread.

Meanwhile, earlier this morning, Pas secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan had also extended the party's wish on his Facebook page.
