Thunderstorm warning in 10 states today - MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM - Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expectedn 10 states - Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Sarawak, and Sabah until 7pm today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement issued at 3.15pm said that in Kedah, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Sik and Baling.

While in Perak, the same weather conditions are expected in Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak.

Johor is also not spared from heavy downpour today, especially in Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian.

MetMalaysia also warned of thunderstorms and heavy rain in Sabah with affected areas in Tawau, Lahad Datu, Sandakan and Kinabatangan.

In Sarawak, the affected areas are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Saratok and Kabong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and Bintulu.

MetMalaysia also warned of thunderstorms and heavy rain in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.
