SHAH ALAM - All eyes are now on those sacked and suspended from Umno on Friday.

These are big names like former Rembau MP Khariy Jamaluddin and former Selangor Umno chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar sacked while others such as former vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and former information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan suspended for six years.

This cleanse will have an impact with state elections to be held this year.

But what will those suspended and sacked likely to do? They could appeal or join other parties.

Selangor Bersatu on Sunday said they are willing to accept Noh and several other members to strengthen the Perikatan Nasional (PN) machinery.

Selangor PN Election Machinery Deputy Director Datuk Zulkafperi Hanapi said Noh's involvement in the government could assist PN in facing the Selangor state election.

He said Bersatu was open towards the unification of Malays on the basis of the same struggles towards defending the rights of the race without oppressing others.

The former Communication and Multimedia deputy minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin revealed many Umno members who had left the party may join PKR soon.
