Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamid said this when asked if any action will be taken against the four Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) State Assembly members who recently expressed their support for Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
"We will discuss this matter, I think some solution should be found and a peaceful solution will be announced later.
" The correct method is of course going through the disciplinary board and later the matter will then be handed over to the supreme council to make a decision," he said in a press conference after chairing the Umno Sabah special meeting at the Umno building, here, on Monday.
This follows the recent purge last Friday involving several big names from the party being fired and suspended membership for six years.
Asked whether Umno was in dilemma to take action against all the assemblymen concerned, he said that the matter was clear but any action taken needs to be conducted fairly.
"There is no dilemma at all, the matter is very clear but actions must be seen as fair and the party must be seen as fair to all its members," he said.
Previously, it was understood that only four Umno assemblymen were linked to the matter, namely Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya (Tanjung Keramat), Datuk Jasnih Daya (Pantai Dalit), Datuk Mohd Arsad Bistari (Tempasuk) and Datuk James Ratib (Sugut).
Meanwhile, another Sindumin assemblyman, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob Umno membership has yet to be approved.
However, it was reported that the recent political upheaval in Sabah stated that five Umno assemblymen took a stand to continue supporting Hajiji's leadership as Sabah Chief Minister.
Also present at the meeting was Umno Sabah chief, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and his deputy, Datuk Yakub Khan.
