Asam Pedas galore under budget Rahmah Menu in Melaka

MALACCA - Its asam pedas galore every Mondays and Thursday at a restaurant here after the government introduced its budget Rahmah menu inistiative to fight rising cost of living.

Selera Kampung Asam Pedas businessman Saharudin Mohd Nor said the initiative ihas three asam pedas menu sets with chicken, beef and fish worth RM5 to help customers especially the B40 group to enjoy a cheaper alternative.

He said the efforts gave room to provide an affordable quality menu to customers.

“Currently we don’t know how the reception would turn out but the RM5 menu will be given for the first 100 customers on the chosen days,” he said at the Rahmah Menu launch in Banda Hilir, here, on Monday.

Each menu included vegetables, salted eggs and mineral waters suited for the groups.

“Even though it is cheaper we will not abandon quality control and assure customers would get the same taste of asam pedas just at a smaller portion.

Melaka Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) director Norena Jaafar said she believed many businesses would introduce the Rahmah Menu at their stores.

She said 25 businesses have stated their intentions to create the Rahmah Menu at their premises in the state but it was up to them to sell it on a daily basis.
