SHAH ALAM - Global Peace Mission Malaysia with 21 Malaysian and Indonesian NGOs have channelled RM400,000 to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

Malaysia Prihatin movement spokespeman Saifulnizam Muhammad said RM250,000 in cash will be handed over this week for search and rescue efforts.

He said RM150,00 was allocated for winter cloths including gloves and sweaters that would be flown from Malaysia through Turkish Airlines.

“The matter has been discussed with the Turkish embassy and they are simplifying the process for the aid to enter Syria.

“We will send a team to carry out the survey on Thursday to identify the aid needed,” he said in a virtual press conference today.
