SHAH ALAM - Famous fashion designer, Datuk Jovian Mandagie claims that the fashion industry in Malaysia is spiteful and needs to change its mindset to work in harmony.

When asked on his hopes for this industry, Jovian, the son-in-law to former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said he just wants harmony.

“One thing that I wish for is harmony. Yes, I believe that we can make it friendly, we can make it harmonious and we can make it ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ ”, Jovian told Sinar Daily's Politically Frank.

To boost the fashion industry in Malaysia, Jovian said that all local brands need to be exposed internationally.

“We already have local exposure by having Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week. It is a great platform for all local fashion designers.

“However, the platform needs to be louder.

“As simple as by bringing Malaysian local brand to Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand,” he added.
