SHAH ALAM - The International Conference on Palestine Kuala Lumpur (ICPKL) which will be held this month aims at creating awareness on the injustice against Palestinians in Israeli prisons by the Israeli occupying forces.

Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Malaysia (BDS) chairman Prof Mohd Nazari Ismail said the purpose of the conference was to reveal more truths about what was happening in Palestine, including the history of the colonisation of the land by Zionists.

He said the main reason why the conference was held in Malaysia as it was a country that was very supportive of the cause of justice in Palestine.

"The main organisers are all Malaysians and this will be a great advantage to make sure all Malaysians are aware of the injustice that is ongoing in Palestine.

"This conference will also let everyone know the truth," he told Sinar Daily.

Mohd Nazari added that Malaysia and the government have always understood the Palestinians' struggles.

He said he hoped that Malaysians, including political leaders will have awareness of the injustice happening in Palestine and work with the BDS movement to boycott Israel and all organisations that were complicit with Israel.

ICPKL will be held at the the Royal Chulan Hotel in Seremban from Feb 10 to Feb 12.
