PUTRAJAYA - The Education and Skills Development Program (PPK) in the KafeTEEN Youth Center has benefitted 58,000 teenagers, Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said today. She said that out of 850,000 teenagers who participated, 38,000 benefited from the reproductive health service while 20,000 received social counselling services.

"We think this amount should be raised even more, and doing so would also give young people the chance to engage in beneficial activities with non-governmental organisations (NGOs)," she said at the KafeTEEN Outreach Truck delivery at the Precinct 16 Neighbourhood Complex.

Nancy said that 18 KafeTEEN Youth Centers have been set up in different parts of the country so far.

"Out of that total, eight are at National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), eight at the Urban Transformation Center (UTC), and two at the KafeTEEN Transit Center," she added.

Nancy said that KafeTEEN, established in 2006, has now added interactive activities that help teenagers fill their time while also improving their knowledge, identity, and skills in different ways.

She said KafeTEEN Outreach Truck provides on-the-ground activities such as Teen Talk/Teen Chat, youth counselling, and Busker Sahabat KafeTEEN.

"The reach target for KafeTEEN Outreach Truck for 2023 is 6,000 teenagers nationwide to improve their knowledge and understanding of the negative effects of premarital sex, reproductive health, and social issues surrounding teenagers," she stated.
