KUALA LUMPUR - Pakatan Harapan (PH) has not held any discussions to accept Pejuang into the coalition as of now, says PH Communications director Fahmi Fadzil.

He said the focus of the coalition is to strengthen Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim-led unity government.

"PH at this time as far as I know has not had any discussion on this matter.

"Internal conflict occur in just about any party. We do not interfere," he said during the Chinese New Year Open House press conference at Lembah Pantai Parliamentary Office 2023 here on Sunday.

He said the government's priority was to do their best to solve people's problems.

This comes after former Pejuang central executive council member Abu Bakar Yahya said the recent turmoil in the party was due to its president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir's wish to join the Unity Government or Perikatan Nasional.

On Friday, former Pejuang president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had announced his departure from the party with 12 other members.

According to a notice to the party's secretary-general Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah, the decision was made following the party's decision to cut ties with Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA).
