M'sian singer-songwriter bags 'Best Female Solo Artiste' at California Music Video Awards

Malaysian singer-songwriter Heerraa Ravindran was named "Best Female Solo Artiste" at the 6th Annual California Music Video Awards in San Francisco, California.

According to a recent Facebook post by Heerraa, the award was given to the US-based local musician for her song, "Attention Island".

“I'm deeply honored for this opportunity, to have my name announced, to walk onstage to receive the award and deliver my acceptance speech to a roomful of talented global artists who are all driven to impact the world with their music too!”, she said in a statement.

She also expressed her gratitude to voters who supported her song and that the award is because of the love and support for her mission to change the music world.

Heerraa also said thank you to her collaborators; ET Boost studio for the visuals of her music video and MAP Music who arranged and coached her powerful vocal performance.

On her Facebook post, she also credited ET Ideas - The Hub of Ideas & Ascendance for the guidance and support.

“Thank you for giving me the chance to chase after my dreams, I hope to make you proud. It really takes a village to make dreams come true.”

Aside from being an internationally recognised singer, she also co-founded Ascendancepro, a youth organisation dedicated to assisting and empowering today's youth to fulfil their maximum potential.

According to local media reports, Ascendancepro has evolved into an international movement encompassing over 13,000 young people and was awarded the Diana Award in 2019.
