KUNAK - Kunak Assemblyman Norazlinah Arif says she is prepared to be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly taking a bribe to leave Parti Warisan.

She said the probe was following Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s allegations that she had received bribes to support the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

"I welcome the MACC's investigations if Shafie has solid evidence. I have denied it several times previously because I was accused. I have also filed a police report in regard to this.

"I left Warisan willingly because I no longer agreed with the inconsistent direction of the party.

"If there is proof, report it officially to the MACC," she said in a statement on Thursday.

Warisan’s recent refusal to show support as promised in the 15th General Election (GE15) has led to the political turmoil that was described as unhealthy for Sabah.

"The current political polemics must end so that all assemblymen are given the opportunity to carry out their duties and provide the best service in their respective areas.

"Let the authorities carry out their investigations. Don’t drag the assemblymen and the party into a power struggle," she stated.
