SHAH ALAM - More than 30 winners of the Bisnes Sinar Harian Awards (BISA) comprising local entrepreneurs will be announced at the event which will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, i-City, here, tonight.

Sinar Karangkraf Head of Marketing and Branding Nik Justin Nik Mohd Ariffin said the winners' selection process took almost a year as they have to collect, analyse, and held discussions in order to select the appropriate winners.

More importantly, he said the winners selected were among entrepreneurs who had proven their abilities to grow and survive in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) industry.

"These group had also contributed to the community and helped sustain the country's economy.

"This includes providing job opportunities and introducing new innovations," he told Sinar Harian on Wednesday.

Nik Justin said he was both excited and proud of the encouraging support received from local industry players.

He said he expected BISA to be an annual event capable of changing the landscape of the SME industry in the country.

He said Sinar Harian took the responsibility as the catalyst providing a platform for all industry players, agencies, and entrepreneurs in the effort to strengthen Malaysia's economy.

"Initially we wanted to give recognition to successful local entrepreneurs, but who would have thought that BISA received an extraordinary support from industry players.

"Within a year, we not only managed to gather entrepreneurs for this award, but we will also be accompanied by industry players including corporate bodies and government agencies.

"Sinar could create a healthy SME ecosystem and become the main platform to connect everyone," he added.

Nik Justin said a total of 300 guests comprising entrepreneurs, founders and influencers will be attending the award’s gala night.

He said Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub will be the guest of honor at the event.

Guests and audiences will be entertained with special performances by among others national rock legend and popular actor Awie and comedian and host Douglas Lim.

The public is invited to watch the awards live via the bisaawards.sinarharian.com.my website and on all Sinar Harian digital platforms.

"Interestingly, audience will also have the opportunity to watch the red carpet event, behind the scenes, interviews with the entrepreneurs and various other activities as early as 7pm, before the event starts through these platforms.

"Audiences can together experience BISA's excitement through these live broadcast," he added.
