Selangor Bersatu lodges police report against MB

PUCHONG - Selangor Bersatu has lodged a police report against Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and several other individuals including a state government exco over allegations of abuse of power.

Its Puchong division chief Mohd Shukor Mustaffa said the report was made to urge the police to launch an investigation on criminal offences of abuse of power, governance and conflict of interest.

Mohd Shukor said the police should investigate Amirudin for allegedly using his position as Menteri Besar by awarding a mega project worth RM700 million through a direct negotiations by the Selangor government.

“The report was made so the police can initiate investigations against the individuals involved.

“We are not pointing fingers towards anyone, we merely want a fair investigation on this case so that there are no abuse of power in the state government,” he told reporters, today.

Mohd Shukor also said Selangor Bersatu has planned to lodge a report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if there were no actions taken by the police.

Describing the report as the first step in seeking justice, he pointed out that he will discuss with several other Bersatu members to lodge a police report over the matter.

“If God wills, there will be more reports made in the near future,” he said.

In an exclusive report by Sinar Daily yesterday (Feb 28), Amirudin has been called out for being a director of a company allegedly awarded a RM700 million mega project via direct negotiations by the Selangor government.

The Green Party secretary general Abdul Razak Ismail claimed that besides Amirudin, Selangor Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Modernisation of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry executive council chairman Izham Hashim was also a director of Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLB), along with tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan.

Abdul Razak said LLB was a joint venture with Tan's Berjaya Land Berhad (BLand) holding a 55 per cent stake in the company, while LLB held the remaining 45 per cent.

Abdul Razak alleged that LLB was handed a project known as the Selangor Maritime Gateway, which involved the deepening of a 56-kilometre stretch of the Klang River from the Mid Valley City in Kuala Lumpur to Port Klang, which is said to cost RM700 million.
