SHAH ALAM - Education, effective prevention, and law enforcement by authorities represent the three most important elements to combat corruption.

Penang Malaysian Anti-Corruption Foundation (Yarm) chairman Datuk Osman Hussain said these elements were important to impart to the younger generations.

"The government must convince the public through its efforts to fight graft. People have gotten smarter.

"Hence, there would be implications for future generations if these elements were not stressed strongly," he said on Saturday.

Last week, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently gave his assurance to continue the fight against corruption when re-tabling Budget 2023 in the Dewan Rakyat.

Anwar stated in his speech that corruption and misappropriation can no longer be continued, and the message should be clearly reflected in the budget.

Commenting on this, Osman said governance in national administration is important to fulfil the people's aspirations.

"The people expect transparency from the government in fighting corruption fairly.
