More than 43,000 flood victims still at relief centres in three states

In JOHOR, the state Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) said the number of flood victims in the state dropped to 40,129 tonight from 49,543 this afternoon, with 51 PPS closed today.
The victims from 11,210 families are housed at 216 PPS, including three which were opened today.
Of the nine districts hit by floods, Batu Pahat is the worst affected with 21,854 evacuees, followed by Segamat (4,913) and Muar (4,098).
According to JPBN, the flood situation in Segamat was improving, unlike Batu Pahat which has continued to register an increase in evacuees.
In MELAKA, the number of victims dropped marginally to 593 at 8 pm from 597 in the afternoon, involving 160 families at five PPS.
The JPBN Secretariat, in a statement, said the PPS at Balai Raya Bukit Tambun in Alor Gajah was shut down at 2 pm after floodwaters in the district fully receded and the victims were allowed to return home.
In PAHANG, the Social Welfare Department’s InfoBencana application said the number of flood victims in the state dropped to 2,684 people who were housed at 19 PPS tonight, compared to 2,888 people at 20 PPS this afternoon.
Rompin district has the highest number of victims at 2,671, followed by Maran with 13 people.
The JPBN Secretariat said Temerloh had recovered from floods and the PPS at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sri Semantan was closed at 4 pm today.
