Tajuddin's daughter wins against Perak Umno Wanita chief
IPOH - Datin Sri Rahayu Tajuddin, the daughter of former Pasir Salak member of Parliament Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, has been chosen as the Pasir Salak division Umno Wanita chief, after defeating incumbent Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin in the party elections held yesterday,
Sri Rahayu also won a seat on the Umno Wanita central executive committee after garnering the third highest votes of 320.
Wan Norashikin, who was the Perak Umno Wanita chief, failed to retain her Umno Wanita central executive committee position after placing 49th.
The elections also witnessed Pasir Salak Umno division acting chief Khairul Azwan Harun being defeated, but the results for the Umno Puteri and Youth division were different.
The Umno Youth division chief position was won by a new face that is Mohd Yafiz Mustafa while the deputy chief post was won by Mohd Farid Mohd Hayati.
The Umno Puteri division witnessed the rise of a new face when Azuwa Sulaiman won the chief's post while Saila Mohd Saleh was elected as her deputy.
Leaders chosen for the youth and puteri wings represented a portion of the team announced by Khairul Azwan before the Umno election.
On Feb 28, Khairul Azwan, who contested the Umno division chief's post, announced his team consisting of Umno division deputy chief to Umno Puteri division deputy chief candidates.
The Pasir Salak Umno division chief post witnessed Khairul Azwan going against Dr Faizal Tajuddin who is Tajuddin’s eldest son.
