SHAH ALAM - Bersatu information chief Datuk Razali Idris has lodged a police report against the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi regarding defamation statements and allegations made against Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Razali claimed that Anwar, Ahmad Zahid and their allies tried to destroy PN and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) leadership in order to paralyse the coalition's political strength to face the upcoming state elections (PRN) in six states.

According to him, it included freezing Bersatu's bank account, prosecuting and dragging the party's leadership to court.

"On December 6, 2022, I watched television, Anwar as Finance Minister claimed that the government under Muhyiddin had misappropriated RM600 billion in economic packages.

"These allegations are clearly slander and false accusations when RM600 billion was reduced to RM530 billion and then to RM92.5 billion and then to RM4.5 billion and finally to only RM300 million.

"Ahmad Zahid, in his speech at the Umno General Assembly (PAU) last January, stated that there would be a court cluster among PN and Bersatu leaders, even though the full investigation was not yet complete at that time.

"This is clear evidence showing the existence of an evil conspiracy against Muhyiddin, PN and Bersatu," he said through a police report shared on Wednesday.

Razali, who is also the Bersatu Terengganu chairman also claimed that Anwar had abused his power as the 10th Prime Minister by pressuring the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to start an investigation into Bersatu leadership.

He said the action was aimed at creating a bad perception of the party and an attempt to show that slander and accusations thrown towards Bersatu have a basis, and to also destroy PN's image in the process.

He explained that the police reports were made to prevent criminal acts and curb the abuse of power by government leaders who use law enforcement agencies and abuse the legal process for the sake of political survival.

"All the legal actions imposed on PN, Bersatu, Muhyiddin and other PN leadership including freezing Bersatu's accounts clearly show an evil conspiracy and abuse of the legal process motivated by political prosecution.

"The real purpose of Anwar, Ahmad Zahid and their alliance in Pakatan Harapan (PH) is to create hatred and anger from the people towards PN.

"They aim to bring down the dignity of a clean party by accusing party leaders of corruption and bribery. that will upset the people and erode their trust in PN especially in facing the next state elections ," he said.
