GOMBAK - Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are expected to hold meetings to negotiate the seat allocations for the Selangor state election this Monday.

The state's Umno chief Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin said the second meeting would be attended by technical committees representing the top leaders of each coalition.

Megat and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari will not be attending the meeting but they will be represented by Selangor BN and PH deputy chiefs.

"Everyone will sit down together and discuss the seats won by all parties in the last general election as well as negotiate the seat allocation for BN and PH candidates.

The negotiation only involves the parent party without involving representatives from any component parties. The distribution method will then be decided by the respective parties themselves," he said when met during the Gombak Umno Delegates Meeting at the Lincah Mahaguru Complex here today.

He said this to comment on PH and BN seat allocation negotiations under the Unity Government coalition ahead of the upcoming state election.

Megat Zulkarnain said that the seat allocation is expected to be finalised after they reach a consensus.

In the meantime, he welcomes Amirudin's announcement that Umno and BN state assemblymen are now part of the Selangor government until the end of the state government's term which will end next June.
