Ahmad Said remains as Kemaman Umno division chief

KEMAMAN - Terengganu Umno chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Said has retained his post as Kemaman Umno division chief for the 2023-2026 session..

Ahmad, 66, who i also a candidate for an Umno Supreme Council post, obtained 401 votes to defeat rival Datuk Seri Mohamed Rahim Hussin who garnered 286 votes.

The Kijal Assemblyman, who has held the position for 23 years, won with a majority of 115 votes.

The Kemaman Umno division permanent chairman Razali Jusoh said 34 condidates contested the Kemaman Umno division committee members posts.

"The total number of delegates in this year's election were 690 out of 818 who were eligible to participate," he said.

The Kemaman Umno division deputy chief post was won by Datuk Wan Ahmad Nizam Wan Abdul Hamid after defeating Tuan Kechil Tuan Tengah with a majority of 132 votes.

Nizam garnered 407 votes while Tuan Kechil garnered 275 votes.

The Kemaman Umno division vice president post witnessed former Kemaman Umno division deputy chief Mohd Hisham Zubir defeating Datuk Mustafa Ab Rahman with a majority of 237 votes for the post.
