KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) will consider cooperating with any political party in the upcoming state election (PRN).

Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, however, said the matter will be discussed first through a political bureau meeting to examine which party to work with.

"We will hold a political bureau meeting to study who we would work with in the next election. This matter needs to be discussed.

"The cooperation with a political party must have a positive impact and help us win the state election. "We will consider not only Parti Warisan (Warisan), but any party that could bring victory by working together, we will consider," he said after chairing the Saabh Umno liaison committee meeting at the Umno building, here on Sunday.

Previously, Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal expressed his willingness to work with Sabah Umno in the next election.

When asked about the collaboration between the new Sabah Umno leadership, including his deputy, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Bung is confident that the combination will provide a better catalyst to ensure Sabah Umno makes Umno relevant in the state.

"Rahman has been in the party for a long time, and I am quite confident that the combination between me and him will provide a better catalyst because we both have experience at the state and national level.

"With this combination, we will use our expertise to ensure Sabah Umno will continue to get the attention of the people," he said.

Meanwhile, Rahman said that, personally, he has no problem with the leadership.

"I see that we need the strength of all parties, Bung has been a leader for a long time, and there is no problem between all of us. We want to serve the party with only one hope; that Sabah Umno will return to be the core party in the Sabah government," he said.
