PUTRAJAYA - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested three women for suspicion of misappropriating RM9 million belonging to a famous massage centre company.

All suspects who were in their 50s comprised of two massage oil supplier company directors and the wife of former managing director of the company involved.

According to a source, the three suspects were arrested yesterday afternoon at Putrajaya MACC headquarters when they came to give statements.

"They are suspected of having submitted documents with false details to manipulate the company's finances between the year 2017 and 2019.

The suspect was said to have embezzled the money through massage oil purchases where it was set to a higher price compared to the market price by the supplier company who was their proxy.

"The purchase was worth RM9 million and due to this purchase, the company was said to have suffered an estimated RM1.8 million loss.

Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin at the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court had ordered the five-day remand order which started today (Thursday) until Monday after MACC applied for it.

Meanwhile, MACC Senior Director of Investigation Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hashim confirmed the arrest when contacted and said that the case was being investigated under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009.
