Are artists linked to PH-BN restricted from performing at RTM?, Wan Saiful asks

SHAH ALAM - Bersatu information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has asked the Communications and Digital Minister to give an explanation about the allegations that RTM officers were ordered to block certain artists' performance over political issues.
He said based on the information received, the officer was also instructed to check the artist's background before they were invited for a performance.
"Does this mean the Ministry is now restricting artists whose background are not linked with PH-Umno?
"Is there a new order to against artists?
""If it's true then it is a backward and tyrannical move. Artists should not be judged through a political lens," he said in a statement today.
Wan Saiful added that Fahmi should conduct an investigation to prevent the government's good name from being tarnished.
"If the allegation turns out to be true then it's an unfortunate thing especially when we are getting closer to Aidilfitri that is supposely a happy event for all of us.
"Fahmi was previously an advocate for freedom of expression. When you have the power, don't be a cruel leader and block the people's source of sustenance including artists," he said.
