PKR to field credible candidates for the state elections

KUALA SELANGOR - Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will field candidates that are credible and have the people's support in the upcoming state elections.

PKR Youth chief Adam Adli Abd Halim said the party the focus is not only on the age of the candidate, but also on maturity and leadership skills.

According to him, the ability and skills of a candidate is important to continue the agenda of helping the people, especially in states governed by the party together with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

"Candidates fielded in the state elections would be individuals that are familiar with the issues at the state level an be able to conduct themselves well if given the mandate," he said this when met at the Bukit Melawati Lebarun 2023 Program in Dataran Malawati here on Saturday.

Adam who is also Youth and Sports Deputy Minister, said for example in Selangor, various initiatives in the form of welfare have been introduced by the state government to help the people at all levels.

He explained that various approaches have been taken by the Selangor state government, where it can clearly be seen that the people are take care of, starting from welfare funds provided for newborns to the elderly.

Therefore, he said, the people should continue to evaluate the policies implemented by the state government, especially in times of economic uncertainty.

"These are the factors that needs to be taken into account in evaluating candidates to be fielded to ensure that if they win the state elections they will be able to continue the agenda of helping the people," he added.
