KUALA LUMPUR - Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he was emotionally touched after watching ‘Anwar, The Untold Story’ during the premier screening at Dadi Cinema in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur.

"Azizah and I were touched. The movie star is here.. the director is here.. and Azizah and I are just spectators. The storyline in this movie is correct, and the dialogue is correct even if it is not 100 per cent same as what happened.

"It is difficult to comment because it was a very painful experience. This burden is borne by Azizah, my children, family, and friends," Anwar said.

When asked about his comment on Farid Kamil performance in the lead role, the Tambun MP further added that Farid successfully pulled off the role of Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar also expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian director Viva Westi who has directed the movie very well.

"To sum up everything in 100 minutes is not easy. Although the Indonesian accent is there, I don't think this is a problem, as long as you understand it, I think it's very good," Anwar said.

However, Anwar further added that it would be great if the production team would add more elements to the original sound track (OST) "Menjaga Cintamu" by Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin.

"Something is left out, Siti's song is not included, I think it's a great performance by Siti. The song is amazing."

When asked Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail about her review of the movie, the Bandar Tun Razak MP said that for 23 years Anwar was portrayed as a criminal, and I believe this film can change that. Alhamdulillah."

Besides Anwar and her wife, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Communication and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Youth and Sports Deputy Minister Adam Adli also attended the premiere screening of the movie tonight (Monday).
